How are you doing with your digital decluttering? I just deleted over 1000 emails and 100s of files – there always seems to be more that can be gotten rid of! Again, I felt a sense of control and freedom afterwards and it’s good to know that I’m also helping our natural environment. Contribute to last week’s poll to give us an idea of what actions you’ve taken.
Speaking of environments, if you attended Hale’s workshop on Saturday entitled ‘The Power of Habit’ you may recall her saying how important it is to reduce or eliminate obstacles on the path to developing supportive habits. Make it easier to take the actions that will help you reach your true potential. That’s precisely what we’re doing here – creating environments that inspire, support and enable us. Creating winning, harmonious environments, as Jitka expressed it. Since the environment always wins, why not create ones with fewer obstacles, ones with less clutter? A winning environment gives you the capacity for more of what brings you fulfillment.
This week we take a look at our physical environment. Put yourself in a space that you spend a lot of time in. Maybe it’s your (home) office, living room, kitchen, garden. How do you feel while you’re there? How would you feel if it truly were a winning environment? What is getting in the way of it being a winning environment?
This last question identifies the obstacles, or clutter, in your physical environment. For this week’s challenge, list and resolve:
- three (3) items that are extra – they just take up space. Get rid of them.
- three (3) items that are broken – they require effort to work around. Fix them.
- three (3) items that are missing – also require effort to work around. Obtain them.
I’ll be doing this along with you – I’m far from clutter-free! Share your thoughts in the comments below and take part in this week’s poll.
Here’s to a winning, more harmonious Physical environment!
