Last week you looked at your Relationship environment – the people closest to you. This week we expand that view to your larger Network. Who is in your network? These are colleagues, community members, professional contacts that know you personally and you have occasional to regular contact with.

Identify five to seven (5 – 7) of the most influential people you have in your network. How are they supporting you in your mission? How are you supporting them? Are there obstacles in any of these relationships that you could clear? Without feeling like you’re ‘using’ these important folks, ask yourself these familiar questions:

1. Is there something extra here? Maybe you’re relying too much on someone or they are asking too much of you.
2. Is something broken? Perhaps a misunderstanding that hasn’t been resolved or a commitment unfulfilled.
3. Is something missing? Could be a sign of appreciation or unspoken expectations.

Take a few minutes this week to reflect on your broader Network and take steps to strengthen that environment to make it even more supportive.
